I have been an ordained Minister, practice yoga and meditation, and vegan/vegetarian for over 40 years. My wife is Thai, from Issan.
When I go to restaurants for Thai food, I ask for "P̄hĕd māk or เผ็ดมาก"", but always am served "Mị̀ p̄hĕd or ไม่เผ็ด" or "farang style". My one complaint with Thai restaurants!
My other wish is that Thai restaurants come up with a healthy vegan substitute (not "thin sauce" or soy sauce alone) for the fish sauce used in all curries. I love curries, but have been unable to try them because of the strong fish taste that alerts me to the fish sauce in the curry sauces.
I'm sure that the "meat industry" supporters will not look favorably on my ongoing requests for vegan options of all Thai menu items (other than the obvious plates of meat or fish or egg). How about a vegan Iced Thai Tea - made with non-GMO soymilk?
Anyway, my wife and I enjoy good Thai food together, and it would be nice to widen the options available for me. My wife's shop is near the Ulric location of Sab E Lee, and the 2 owners know each other fairly well.
